Prayer When Hope Seems Lost

Eternal Hope,

I confess that hope feels distant right now. The night seems long, and dawn feels far away. But I know that Your mercies are new every morning, and that weeping may last for the night, but joy comes in the morning. Help me to hold on.

Even when I cannot feel hopeful, help me to choose hope. Even when I cannot see the light, help me to trust that it's coming. You are the God who makes dead things live again.

"Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God." - Psalm 42:11
