Prayer for Wisdom in Speech

Lord of Words,

Give me wisdom to know when to speak and when to remain silent. Help my words to be seasoned with grace, filled with truth, and spoken in love. Protect me from saying things I'll regret and give me courage to say what needs to be said.

May my words build up rather than tear down, encourage rather than discourage, and bring life rather than death. Let wisdom guard my tongue.
